Bob Mason, CPA

Bob Mason is founder and president of Coast Financial Services, Inc.  He holds the professional designations of Certified Public Accountant and Certified Internal Auditor.

Coast Financial Services, Inc. (CFS) is a full service accounting firm specializing in serving clients whose accounting, tax and financial planning needs are in the areas of real estate development and small to medium size businesses.  CFS is comprised of a dedicated group of accounting professionals focused on the highest standards and best practices.

 The professionals at CFS have proven experience working with real estate developers, builders, contractors and real estate investors.  CFS serves small to medium size businesses with areas of specialty in retail, service, consulting, food and manufacturing industries.

 Bob spearheaded a tax-planning effort that helped a client in real estate development save over two million dollars in income taxes, and has helped clients acquire real estate in excess of twenty million dollars.  CFS has invested in sophisticated tax software and ongoing training for its tax preparers, enabling them to keep current on rapidly changing tax laws.

 Bob has over 27 years of experience in both public accounting and private industry.  While in the private industry, Bob served as CFO, Chief Operating Officer, North American Controller and Director of Finance primarily for high technology companies.  His diverse background includes responsibilities as a senior manager while leading both marketing and sales organizations.  He has frequently helped balance decisions of owner/officer compensation, business growth and profitability.  While working with other members of management he contributed to achieving the following: Silicon Valley Fast Fifty Technology Award, the Inc. Cisco Growing with Technology Award, Deloitte & Touche Fast 500 Award and finishing in the Inc. 500 Fastest Growing Companies list three years in a row.

 As a key member of the senior management team, Bob played a major role in helping to take a company from startup to being public on the NASDAQ stock exchange. Bob has helped to raise capital through angle investors, mezzanine financing, public offerings and bank loans in excess of fifty million dollars.

During his career Bob has participated in over 30 merger and acquisition transactions involving purchases and sales of businesses, providing services such as valuation, due diligence, financial analysis and negotiation support.

Bob has written articles on real estate investing and on business management.  He has frequently spoken at business and real estate seminars, and has appeared as a guest on a local real estate television program.  Bob has memberships with local organizations such as Think Local First, and sits on the Board of Directors for the Aptos Chamber of Commerce.
